Member Testimony
Hi Leanne,
That was terrible last night getting refused entry because my shirt was untidy and I was fully sweating.
I was at a public music festival in Burleigh Heads having a great time dancing my way from venue to venue, as you do.
As I approached a different area a security guard said; “Sorry I’ll have to refuse you from entry – You’ve been drinking too much”.
I asked the security guard to please get the manager. He said “I am the manager” as he looked at a group of police officers not far away.
I replied “Go and get those police, they know me… I haven’t had a drink or drugs in many years”.
As I was pulling that card you sent me out of my wallet, he quickly said “That won’t help you”.
I asked him to “Please fully read the VPIC card”.
After slowly reading the card and glancing at the police officers again he said, “OK – you can go in.”
I said thanks and went in to continue dancing.
